Wellbeing Champion Training
Wellbeing Champions
To our clients, partners, and the wider community,
We wish to inform you that the contract for the Social Recovery Service (Peer Support, Social Events and Wellbeing Champion Training), delivered by Norfolk and Waveney Mind, will formally conclude on 31.01.2026. This decision follows the completion of the agreed contractual period.
Throughout the course of the service, our primary aim has been to offer compassionate and effective support to individuals on their recovery journey. We are proud of the progress achieved and grateful for the trust placed in us by clients, families, and partner organisations.
As the service concludes, we are committed to ensuring a smooth transition. All clients currently engaged with the Social Recovery Service will be contacted directly with information about upcoming steps, including any alternative support options or referrals available.
We recognise the importance of continuity in recovery, and our team will collaborate closely with clients and partner agencies to minimize any disruption.
We sincerely thank everyone who has contributed to the success of this service - including clients, caregivers, community partners, and staff.
Wellbeing Champions care about where they live and work and understand the importance of talking about mental health and wellbeing. This training is for anyone, but especially useful for organisations such as schools, businesses, charitable or community organisations.
Training
The training is 1 to 1½ hours long with a break and offers basic education about mental health, why people may struggle, and signs you may notice when someone is having a hard time. You will also learn how you might approach someone and start a conversation. Finally, you will learn about the Norfolk and Waveney Talking Therapies and how we can offer support so you can effectively signpost. You will receive a PDF booklet afterward with all the information covered in the training and a comprehensive FAQ with information about the Norfolk and Waveney Talking Therapies and other services to help you signpost, as well as some resources to use in your workplace, business, or another community setting.
Next steps
If you would like to improve your understanding of mental health and create a supportive working environment or community, becoming a Wellbeing Champion may be for you. Please contact us if you have any questions, email the team: CDCTeam@norfolkandwaveneymind.org.uk to ask any questions or organise a session of Wellbeing Champion Training if you'd like a bespoke session for your organisation. We also have a regular public session available online to attend, which you can book a place on via our Eventbrite page.
