Peer Support
To our clients, partners, and the wider community,
We wish to inform you that the contract for the Social Recovery Service (Peer Support and Social Events), delivered by Norfolk and Waveney Mind, will formally conclude on 31.01.2026. This decision follows the completion of the agreed contractual period.
Throughout the course of the service, our primary aim has been to offer compassionate and effective support to individuals on their recovery journey. We are proud of the progress achieved and grateful for the trust placed in us by clients, families, and partner organisations.
As the service concludes, we are committed to ensuring a smooth transition. All clients currently engaged with the Social Recovery Service will be contacted directly with information about upcoming steps, including any alternative support options or referrals available.
We recognise the importance of continuity in recovery, and our team will collaborate closely with clients and partner agencies to minimize any disruption.
We sincerely thank everyone who has contributed to the success of this service - including clients, caregivers, community partners, and staff.
How can our Peer Support Workers compliment your treatment with Norfolk and Waveney Talking Therapies?
Meeting people who have had similar experiences can help us to feel less alone, restore our sense of hope and give us ideas of what we could do to support our recovery.
Peer Support Workers are members of staff that have been employed because of their own lived experience with mental health and recovery. Using their experience and training, Peer Support Workers are able to share what they have learned and help you find the support that is right for you. The sessions are led by you and you don't have to share anything you don't want to.
A Peer Support Worker:-
- Talks openly about their own experiences and recovery
- Explores ideas around recovery, and what this might mean for you
- Can help you to think about small goals you might like to set yourself and support you to achieve these
- Can support you to find and connect with other groups and organisations in the area
Peer Support may be accessed before, during, or after the support you receive from your therapist - contact them to find out more
